Situated in a traffic-free zone on the Bahnhofstrasse, the Romantik Hotel Julen is a Zermatt hotel on the main street. The Romantik Hotel Julen is in the Zermatt village, which does not permit cars. Guests can leave their cars at Täsch (5km before Zermatt) and catch a Matterhorn Gotthard Bahn shuttle train at the Matterhorn Terminal in Täsch to get to Zermatt. Shuttle trains leave Täsch every twenty minutes to Zermatt. All of the guest rooms and suites at the Romantik Hotel Julen feature AM/FM alarm clock radios, private bathrooms with hairdryers and bathrobes, televisions with satellite channels, direct dial telephones, daily newspapers and in-room safes. Nonsmoking rooms are also available. Built in 1938 and newly renovated in 2001, the four-star Swiss chalet style Romantik Hotel Julen has been owned and operated by the Julen family since its inception. The property features elevator service, a multilingual staff, currency exchange, a fully equipped fitness center, an indoor swimming pool, child care, laundry service, dry cleaning, a bar and lounge, a restaurant that serves international and regional dishes, room service, and a 3 story “water wonder world” wellness center that features massage treatments, a gym, a spa, and saunas.
