It is surrounded by mountains, which are perfect for hiking and biking in the summer and skiing in the winter. It is also on the shore of Lake Wakatipu where you can swim, fish, boat or a host of other water sports. There are rivers, forests and other natural wonders in the area, as well, which are fun to explore. The more adventurous can try skydiving, luging or hang gliding in the area.
