Spanish architect Juan Felix Sanchez first set foot on this small island just above Cancun 8 years ago. Immediately enamored with the pristine beaches and stunning exotic wildlife he began to visualize a casual retreat that would blend perfectly with this magical destination. Here travelers would feel at home slip off their shoes and completely unwind. Painstakingly bringing local materials over by boat the passionate owner slowly built his island getaway - a serene enclave where picturesque huts weave their way through lush tropical jungle. Eighteen comfortable beach-front palapa-thatched bungalows face seaward on a spectacular virgin beach. In order to provide niches for both romance and family time a section is reserved for adults only but design allows for all to enjoy the hotels facilities. Sway in a hammock - slip into a refreshing beach-side pool -read or play in the upstairs entertainment room or relax in the comfortable outdoor lounge. A full-service restaurant specializes in deliciously fresh seafood. Activities include swimming - snorkeling - fishing - boat excursions - bird-watching or exploring the small village of Holbox. Xaloc is a delightfully relaxed base from which to truly enjoy this slice of paradise.
