Located within a very short walk from the white sandy beach, two hours south east of Auckland or 40 minutes north of Tauranga, the Waihi Beach Lodge offers luxurious accommodation in Waihi, New Zealand. The central location of this property allows its visitors to easily explore the Coromandel and Rotorua areas, as well as to spend time in the Karangahake Gorge. During your stay at the 4 star Waihi Beach Lodge, you can indulge in numerous outdoor activities, such as sunbathing at the nearby beach, or trying a wide range of water sports, including surfing, boogie boarding, and kayaking. The area outside of Waihi is also popular for its scenic walks around the Karangahake and Waitawheta Gorges and up Waihi's Black Hill. A short drive west will take you to the historic Martha Mine gold mine. For those who enjoy a round of golf, there are four golf courses within a 30 minute drive from Waihi Beach. For the more adventurous, there are helicopter tours available of the Tuhua (Mayor Island), where you can admire New Zealand’s most unusual volcano, the Devils Staircase - the stronghold where tribes defended the island in battles, and the Big Tree- a pohutukawa specimen.
