Villa Milani is a charming small hotel of 11 rooms with romantic names of constellations. Built in 1880 as the country house of Giovanni Battista Milani - a well-known Roman architect of the early 1900s - who enlarged and furnished it to match its Classical and Renaissance features, later the property was faithfully restored by Giovanna Milani and Luigi Capobianchi and awarded the category of Historic Mansion by the Regional authorities of Umbria. Set on top of a hill, this late 19th-century country house is surrounded by 20-acres of fields and woodland, and boasts a superb panoramic view on the Umbrian valley. The lovely gardens, with relics from Roman and Renaissance times, have a panoramic terrace with mythological statues overlooking the outlines of the Medieval town of Spoleto, which is 2 km away. The swimming pool is set apart from the villa in its own garden and has beautiful views over the surrounding countryside. Villa Milani still retains its original characteristics and priceless furnishings which, together with the magnificent panoramic views and warm hospitality of its owners, combine to create a refined yet informal and congenial atmosphere.
