The Vilangelim Eco-Pousada was constructed in a manner that left 30% of the site undisturbed, so that the native tropical trees and plants could continue to provide shelter and food for the birds and small wild animals. The heart of this 3 star hotel is a rustic, tastefully decorated lobby where guests are welcomed by the staff. From the city of Salvador and All Saints Bay, you follow the Coconut Highway (Rodovia Linha do Coco) on BA-099 through the tourist cities of Lauro de Freitas, Arembepe, and Praia do Forte. Imbassai Beach is at the start of another stretch of beach towns on the BA-099 called the Green Line (Linha Verde). Just to the northeast of Imbassai Beach, the Costa do Sauipe (Sauipe Coast) area is one of the largest hotel resort developments in South America. The Vilangelim Eco-Pousada is approx. 64 km/40.0 miles from the inland town of Mata de Sao Joao.
