You’ll have a lovely, relaxing stay at Pension Upn Hoff, a traditional German guest house in the charming fishing village of Middelhagen. Pension Upn Hoff is a quaint guest house with 10 guest rooms under a thatched roof. It’s in a beautiful manor park surrounded by the unspoiled nature and soft hills of the Monchgut peninsula. Dinner is prepared by the small restaurant and served on the terrace in warm weather. All accommodations include a breakfast buffet. By advance arrangement, you can use the private spa with a jacuzzi, sauna, and massage shower for two in a thatched beach house, for an additional charge. This guest house is located in the village of Middelhagen, a short walk (800 metres/0.5 mile) through fields and meadows to a beautiful white sand beach. Within the village you can visit a tiny schoolhouse where children in Grades 1 through 8 were educated for decades. The village of Gohren, 3.6 km/2.2 miles to the east, is home to an open-air museum that re-creates farm life on the island in the 18th and 19th centuries. Other Rugen attractions include the chalk cliffs of Konigsstuhl; a beach resort named Prora where the Nazis erected huge tourist hotels that were never completed or used; the beech forests of Jasmund National Park; and the city of Bergen auf Rugen.
