Local Tips: Icmeler was originally thought of as part of Marmaris but has now developed its own identity. After dark there are a good selection of restaurants, bars and discos. There is a weekly market (on a Wednesday), and the interesting 'old town' is just 5 minutes from the Union Palace Hotel. Local transport is easy as the local mini-bus (dolmus) comes up to the hotel, and takes you into the centre of the resort and beach, approximately 1km away. Further afield, visit Marmaris with its vibrant marina and 'bar street', castle and wide range of shops and restaurants.
