A delightful 16th century country house hotel in the heart of Wales' beautiful countryside. Converted from a farmhouse over 30 years ago, many of the original features remain such as thick stone walls, fireplaces, wooden beams and tiled floors. Nestling in the Cothi Valley on the edge of the stunning Brechf forest, Ty Mawr is less than a 30 minute drive from the end of the M4. Set in a rural but accessible location, it is an ideal base to explore all areas of South and West Wales. Ty Mawr has a growing reputation for its good food which relies on local, seasonal ingredients to produce a daily-changing menu, all freshly cooked to order. Steve, the chef and joint owner, has excellent relationships with local suppliers so that the majority of the ingredients come from the valley itself. There is an incredible wealth of heritage in the museums and castles of Carmarthenshire and the area has the largest concentration of premier gardens and botanical attractions in the UK.
