Inverness is a city on the North-Eastern coast of Scotland on the east end of Lock Ness, and calls itself the capital of the Highlands. It is a fantastic place to base yourself for your holiday, whether you are following the whisky trail, walking, cycling, motorcycling, and dolphin spotting or looking for Nessie. Our guest house will give you the opportunity to explore the whole of the Highlands and also enjoy a variety of options for dining out and entertainment. Close by Inverness are Aquadome, Torvean golf course, golf range, tenpin bowling, indoor bowling, dolphin cruises, skiing, snowboarding and hill walking. Inver means Mouth and Ness refers to the River Ness, which flows through the centre of Inverness into Loch Ness. It flows from nearby Loch Ness and the Caledonian Canal and connects Loch Ness, Loch Oich, and Loch Lochy the canal continues to Fort William. Right by Inverness is the Moray Firth: the inlet from the North Sea, north and east of Inverness. It is the largest firth in Scotland. The Kessock Bridge spans the Moray Firth, connecting the city of Inverness to the Black Isle and the village of North Kessock and beyond to Dingwall, Ullapool, and to the east Thurso, Wick and John' O'Groats where you can get a ferry to Orkney. An important day came for Inverness in the year 2001 when the town was granted city status - the first new city in Scotland for over 100 years, and in recent years it has proudly become one of Europe's fastest-growing cities and is frequently placed in the top five most desirable places to live in the UK for its quality of life (and lifestyle!).
