A warm Yorkshire welcome to this wonderful 16th century coaching inn, conveniently located on Pickering's Market Place. The feel you get through the whole building is exactly what a traditional inn should be, simple but welcoming. The bar is a proper bar with roaring log fires and serves a choice of real ale from Yorkshire, it is well stocked to include at least twelve wines by the glass and a fine selection of malt whisky and liqeurs. The restaurant is truly traditional and has stone flagged floors and a roaring fire in winter to create the right atmosphere, candle lit at night for extra romance. It would be a shame to miss our restaurant - we have won an AA rosette consistently since 1997 and are also a favourite of the independent Good Food Guide, but remember tables for the restaurant must be booked in advance otherwise we can not guarantee a table. If you prefer a more casual dining experience then you are welcome to eat in the bar or lounge. The bedrooms are beyond expectations, designed only with your complete comfort in mind. All the extra little touches to make your stay even more memorable. Bathrobes, luxurious toiletries, mineral waters, glossy magazines, , even homemade biscuits!
