Apraksts
The Wheatsheaf At Brigsteer was built in 1762 and was originally 3 cottages and a shoeing room for horses, it then became an ale house in the late 1800s and has been an integral part of this tiny Lakeland hamlet ever since. Now holds an AA rosette and is recommended in the Michelin Guides and the Which? good food guide. Tucked away in the Lakeland village of Brigsteer, at the foot of Scout Scar, with its stunning panoramic views and on the edge of a damson-growing region of Lyth Valley, The Wheatsheaf is an impressive food lead country inn. Theres a traditional feel though a recent refurbishment has given it a contemporary twist with polished oak floors and handcrafted bistro style furniture. Menus are based around the impressive seasonal abundance of locally sourced produce, fish from around Morecambe bay and flavoursome game and meat much of which is reared themselves in conjunction with local farmers. Their own grown fruit, vegetables herbs complement the finest of local ingredients and is aided by an excellent wine list and local cask ales that will leave you more than satisfied. 3 double bedrooms are upstairs for those lucky enough to stay over after an excellent evening of hospitality and have the chance to explore this beautiful area. Hotel Rating: Self Assessed 4 star
