Modern resort hotel built in the Mauritian style, set in tropical gardens located on a beautiful sandy beach on the west coast of the island, five kilometres from Flic en Flac. The 92 guestrooms have colourful, modern decor with dark wood furniture and bright fabrics. All of the rooms open out on to balconies with stunning sea views, as well as providing satellite television, wireless Internet (surcharge), direct-dial phones, and minibars. Ensuite bathrooms include separate shower cabins, hair dryers, slippers, bathrobes, and walk-in dressers. A private butler service is also available. Guests of the Sands enjoy a buffet breakfast each morning and the three restaurants serve an extensive range of international cuisine and seafood in a relaxed and informal setting. Guests can swim in the pool, or unwind with one of the many health spa treatments, including massage and sauna. The fitness fanatic can work up a sweat with the fitness equipment followed by a relaxing drink in the bar. Multilingual staff on the 24-hour front desk can exchange currency and help with advice on the hotel and surrounding area. Wireless Internet access is available for a surcharge. The scenic lagoon in front of the hotel provides a range of water sports free of charge including glass-bottom boat, single and double kayaks, paddle boats, snorkelling, water skiing, windsurfing and sailing. Guests can also spend lazy days on the beach or enjoy a helicopter sightseeing tour of the beautiful surrounding area and go on mountain biking excursions. Golfers can enjoy a round of golf on the nearby course. Mauritius International Airport (MRU) is approximately 60 minutes by car, at a distance of 45 kilometres. ; ;
