The Royal Berkshire is set deep in the countryside north of Ascot and west of windsor, yet only fifteen miles from heathrow and within easy reach of London via the nearby M4. A tradtional stay in a wonderful part of the country. This hotel is a tradtional, imposing Queen Anne mansion which began life as the home of the Churchill family. In 1971 it assumed its position as one of the foremost country hotels in britain. For the connoisseurs of fine food, the stateroom restaurant offers an array of contemporary, highly individual dishes enriched by fresh seasonal delicacies gathered from local country markets. The bedrooms are large and nicely decorated with traditional style furnishings. All are in very good condition. The lobby is medium in size and nicely decorated in traditional style with marble columns, and ornate white plaster ceiling. There is ample space for guests to sit and relax in the reception lounge and drawing room. 20 kms to the nearest airport (heathrow), 3 km to the nearest station (ascot), 5 minute walk to the nearest bus stop, 8 kms to city centre.
