The Lambton Hounds Inn, an interesting little Durham hotel, is outside the city of Durham but is close to a park and ride facility that offers easy access to Durham’s city center and attractions like the Baltic Art Gallery, Millennium Bridge, the Bearnish Museum, and Riverside Stadium. Many of the Lambton Hounds Inn’s guests drive to the hotel and take advantage of the nearby park and ride to get into Durham, and the hotel itself is very near the Riverside Stadium, to which visitors can drive or ride the bus. Each of the Lambton Hounds Inn’s seven rooms include a private en-suite bathroom with either a shower or a bath as well as other amenities one would expect from a modern-yet-traditional hotel. This hotel, which is really more like a bed and breakfast, includes a restaurant and a traditional pub, whose bar is a relic of the RMS Olympic, the Titanic’s sister ship. The 250-year-old Lambton Hounds Inn is run by a family, and it retains a local atmosphere in its pub, which features keg and cask-conditioned beers and a large fireplace.
