The Crown Inn Newcastle Clun is a 17th Century Country Inn serving Real Ales & Excellent Home Cooked Fayre. Nestled amidst the rolling South Shropshire Hills in an "Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty", approximately 3 and a half miles west of the historic town of Clun, the Crown is ideally situated in the picturesque Clun Valley, enjoy stunning scenery along with relative peace and quiet. Newcastle is ideally suited to those who enjoy walking, cycling, fishing & golfing &/or visiting the historic towns in and around the South Shropshire Hills, the Welsh border & beyond. Day trips to the Secret Hills Discovery Centre at Craven Arms, "The gateway to the Marches", Acton Scott Historic Working Farm or the Ironbridge Gorge Museum, are just a few of the 90+ attractions in the area. When the sun's shining, why not take a drive to the coast and visit one of the many well known popular Mid Wales seaside resorts. For those people looking to get away from it all, then why not use us as a peaceful getaway retreat. Walkers and Cyclists welcome, we offer a lockable bike store, water point for washing bicycles, boots and outdoor clothing & clothes drying facilities. The Crown Inn is also the base for our holiday company Crown Border Breaks, we offer a range of short breaks ideal for people looking to escape to the country. Meals available 7 days a week
