Beautiful nature resort with pool and gardens that have been called “gorgeous” by an independent travel writer. Though only recently opened, this boutique hotel has earned top marks from guests, including excellent reviews on travel sites. Operated more like a private residence than a hotel, the resort has an unusually tranquil atmosphere that has often prompted guests to extend their stay. Owners Peter and Virgil have been called “hosts par excellence” with their warm hospitality, generosity of spirit, and wealth of useful travel tips. The food, too, has been highly rated, with the breakfast described as “the best in Asia.” Amenities include a Hollywood-inspired café-bar that shows movie classics. Though secluded, the resort is just 3 minutes by tuktuk to the city center and 15 minutes by car to Angkor Wat. Check the website for current room rates and promotional discounts. The Cockatoo Restaurant features dishes that combine Asian and Western cuisines. Made with the freshest ingredients, the dishes are the creations of one of the resort owners, a renowned cook.
