Against the stunning seaside backdrop of Lossiemouth in the Scottish Highlands, this Victorian hotel provides beautiful views over the Moray Firth, a 5 minute walk from unspoilt sandy beaches. A hotel since its construction in 1895, Stotfield is among the oldest hotels in Morayshire. Comprised of 46 en suite bedrooms, each is equipped with a selection of facilities. A restaurant, bar and sauna are all also on hand to keep you relaxed and entertained. Explore the excellent local scenery, or simply pop across the road to the Moray Golf Club, which boasts 2 courses, one of which is used in championships. Business travellers can make use of 3 conference rooms, which are also available for functions of up to 150 guests. Spynie Palace (6.5 km / 4 miles) - the residence of the Bishops of Moray from the 14th century to 1686. It is dominated by the massive tower built by Bishop David Stewart, with spectacular views over the Spynie Loch. Elgin Cathedral (8 km / 5 miles) - one of Scotland's most beautiful medieval buildings, Elgin Cathedral is a magnificent ruin, with much of it dating back to the late 13th century. Elgin Museum (9.5 km / 6 miles) - this award winning museum, founded in 1836, houses important collections of Natural History, Geology, Archaeology, Science, Art, Ethnography and Social History. Exhibitions change regularly. By car: From Inverness: - Turn onto the A96 Inverness to Aberdeen road. - Follow the signs for Elgin. - On approaching Elgin, turn left beside the Eight Acres Hotel; this will take you onto Grampian Road. - Continue to the end of the road. - Take a left at the A941 Lossimouth Road. - On entering Lossiemouth, take the 2nd left onto St. Gerardines Road and follow the road to its end. - The Stotfield Hotel is on the left-hand side. From Aberdeen: - Turn on to the A96 Aberdeen to Inverness road and follow the sign for Elgin. - Approximately 3.2 km (2 miles) after passing Lhaynbryde turn onto the B1930 to Lossiemouth. - On entering Lossiemouth take the 2nd left onto St Gerardines Road and follow the road to its end. - The Stotfield Hotel is on the left-hand side. By bus: The nearest bus station in Elgin, 9.7 km (6 miles) away, has regular buses to Lossiemouth which stop right outside the hotel. By train: The nearest train station is Elgin.
