On Nova Scotia’s Fitzpatrick Mountain, Stonehame Lodge and Chalets is the perfect place for a relaxing getaway. This Pictou accommodation offers 3-star apartments in natural surroundings with abundant wildlife. Stonehame Lodge and Chalets is part of a historic 48 hectare/118 acre farmstead that has been run by the same family for nearly 50 years. Today Stonehame remains a working farm that raises dairy cows and produces forage and grain crops. Guests are invited to explore the pastoral vistas and woodland trails, swim in the heated pool, or soak in the outdoor hot tub. There’s also a playground and facilities for basketball, horseshoes, croquet, volleyball, and badminton. Mountain bikes can be rented on-site. Stonehame Lodge and Chalets was recognized by Fodor’s Travel as a Fodor’s Choice selection in 2010. These apartments are located at the top of Fitzpatrick Mountain, approx. 3 km/1.9 miles west of Scotsburn in Pictou County. From Stonehame it’s less than a 1 hour drive to beaches at either Waterside Beach Provincial Park or Rushton's Beach Provincial Park. Golf can be played at either the Pictou Harbour Golf Club or the Abercrombie Golf Club. Stonehame Lodge and Chalets is approx. 16 km/9.9 miles from the coastal town of Pictou, home of the Hector Heritage Quay and the Northumberland Fisheries Museum, and 21.9 km/13.6 miles from the port of Caribou, where ferries depart for Prince Edward Island.
