Set in its turquoise sea, the beautiful island of Mauritius basks in an all-year-round sub-tropical climate. The coastline is surrounded almost entirely by coral reefs and dramatic mountains rise above the extinct volcanic craters, rivers and waterfalls of the island's central plateau. This resort is pure luxury and guests can be sure they will find the relaxation and tranquility they are looking for. There are plenty of activities around such as golf courses, tennis courses, water sports and even a library for a quiet hour. The spa speaks for itself- there is a huge amount of choices which treatment to get or which yoga class to join. The villas blend into the typical tropical style of the island and are made of wood. Fresh from the ocean, the hotel's garden or nearby farms, thechefs offer local produce and imaginative choices. With casual beach barbeques, fine Cape-inspired dining at the oceanfront restaurant and simple, healthy fare from their Garden Wok menu, the hotel caters to the most discerning of palates. There is a huge choice of amenities and restaurants and bars. The suites and villas at Shanti Maurice are all ocean-facing and are among the most generously proportioned in Mauritius. The villas all have private pools and are surrounded by exotic private gardens, terraces and courtyards. Covering 81 sq. metres, the 44 Junior Suites are among the most generously proportioned in Mauritius. Designed to blend modernity with practicality, they're housed in attractive villa buildings with four suites per villa. Like all guest accommodation at Shanti Maurice, the suites are equipped with plasma TVs, DVD players and broadband Internet access. The ground floor suites have direct access to the beach, as well as an outdoor rain shower, while the suites on the first floor have large balconies overlooking the Indian Ocean. As well as large bedrooms and bathrooms, each Junior Suite has a separate dressing room with an open closet and dressing table. There is a central place where guest check in however as the resort is made of luxury villas the lobby itself loses its function as the whole resort is the paradise itself. 35 kms to the nearest airport (s. seewoosagur ram. intl), 5 kms to city centre.
