The Shangri-La Rasa Sayang Resort & Spa is located on the famed, sandy beach at Batu Feringgi, nestled between the sea and emerald green hills. Guests may explore the Batu Ferringhi night market which is only 10 minutes on foot from the hotel. The Penang Butterfly Farm and the Tropical Spice Gardens are 10 minutes away by car. It is just 16 km from the centre of Georgetown and 25 minutes to the shopping facilities of Gurney Plaza, while the tourist centre at Penang is a 35-minute drive away. Penang Island is linked to the mainland by the Penang Bridge spanning 13.5 km across the channel, and the island's numerous attractions include sandy beaches, a diverse culture and heritage as well as fine food and shopping. Penang Airport is 30 km away. All the Premier rooms come complete with a hot tub on the balcony. Spread along a secluded corner of the resort, facing a tranquil sea, CHI, the Spa offers a holistic approach to health and relaxation. Inspired by traditional Asian healing philosophies, treatments are based upon the principle of restoring balance and harmony to mind and body. The hotel also offers guided activities - for beginners or more experienced guests - conducted on a daily basis, including jungle trekking, beach walking, nature walking and bird-watching. Informative tours such as visits to nearby villages and traditional houses are also available. Within the resort's 30 acres of lush gardens are three swimming pools, including a safe and fun children's pool, a Par-3 Executive Golf Course, a children's playground and floodlit tennis courts.
