The Daintree Forest is a short drive in the other direction and offers many varieties of birds and bird watching activities. Shopping and dining establishments are within twenty minutes' drive. The Saltwater Luxury Apartments is close to an hour away from the airport. Taxis and shuttle service can provide the drive for an extra fee. Most locales in the city can be walked to with ease. There are several one and two bedroom apartments available at the Saltwater Luxury Apartments. Each unit has a DVD player, a barbecue, a communal pool access, a dishwasher, private bathroom with a separate tub and shower, cable television and full laundry hookups. The Saltwater Luxury Apartments is geared towards the vacationer. Since these are apartments, there are few amenities offered. They do have a sun deck, a swimming pool and a barbecue terrace.
