The Salisbury House Hotel is located in the central downtown area, near Vivary Park. Musgrove Park Hospital, the cricket pitch, the county offices and the Debenham’s regional offices are also nearby. Guests can walk from the Salisbury House Hotel to the local bus and railway station. The rooms at the Salisbury House Hotel have a traditional Victorian look with the furnishings and the structure of the rooms, but the old look is supplemented by en suite luxury bathrooms with hair dryers. Ground floor rooms are available for handicapped access, and themed rooms are offered for honeymooning couples. Rooms are available as doubles or family rooms, with television service, direct dial telephones, and Free Internet access. Non-smoking rooms are the standard. The Salisbury House Hotel is a licensed hotel and was built in the 1850’s, and the Gothic Victorian architectural flourishes, such as the stained glass windows, have been preserved in subsequent renovations. It is a family owned and operated property with an on site management team. The reception desk is open until 11 pm. Parking is offered on a limited basis to guests with cars.
