Saimon-in is a traditional shukubo (temple lodging) located in the middle of the Mt. Koya,. The temple was originally found about 1100 years and even one night staying at this shukubo makes you experience of Buddhism culture. Saimon-in and Mt. Koya are quiet places, and make the perfect contrast with visiting Tokyo, or Osaka which is the modern and urban bustle. Mt. Koya became UNESCO World Heritage sites in 2004. You will stay in a traditional Japanese room with tatami mats and futon bed. You enjoy the Shojin - Ryori (Japanese vegetarian dishes) at your room. You can attend the chanting at early morning ceremony (around 6 am) which will be followed by breakfast. If you want, you can also experience several Buddhism training such as Ajikan(a kind of meditateion) , Shakyo(Sutra copying It has 42 guest room and the room type is Japanese style with tatami. All rooms are equipped with tooth brush, face towel, TV set, telephone, yukata(Japanese style nightgown) From Osaka, take Nankai Railway at Namba to Gokurakubashi Station. Then transfer to a cable car to Koyasan Station. From Koyasan station take a bus or a taxi. About 13 minute by bus to the Odawara-Dori stop, and one minute-walk from the bus stop. The garden and surroundings of the temple are fantastic. You can visit Okunoin, Kongobuji, Danjo Garan, in a walking distance from this shukubo.
