The Sabah Hotel Sandakan sits on top of the hill overlooking the town of Sandakan. Sepilok Orang Utan Rehabilitation is just a short drive away. Sandakan Airport is a 20 minute taxi ride away, while there is also an excellent connecting air service via Kota Kinabalu from Kuala Lumpur, Singapore and Hong Kong. Sukau-Kinabatangan River and Selingan Island (Turtle Island) are both about a 90-minute drive away. Exit from the airport and take the North Road (Jalan Utara) towards town centre. Turn left at the Sandakan clock Tower. Turn left again upon reaching the first junction. Hotel Sandakan is on the left side of the road.
