Please note we have a 2 night minimum on a Friday and Saturday call 07445 009 880 we may be able to offer 1 night only. All our bedrooms are en-suite and they Include a power shower and some with the addition of a bath. We have generous king-size pocket-sprung beds furnished with 500-count linens. With digital TV and a Nespresso machine we're sure you'll find it a great place to stay. Tavistock is a wonderful market town on the western edge of Dartmoor situated by the picture-postcard river Tavy. This wonderful and historic town in Devon is beautiful and distinguished with even the police station being a mini Castle. Busy by day quiet and relaxed in the evenings. In modern times we have a bustling town with a surprisingly wide range of local family owned shops which also serve many of the outlying villages. Tavistock's 900 year old Pannier Market (named after the baskets used to carry goods) is as busy as ever. Tuesday to Saturday 9-4 you can browse the large indoor market which hosts stalls containing all sorts of locally produced goods wares and food. Following is a list of attractions in the area. Garden House Yelverton An enchanting terraced walled garden set around romantic 16th century vicarage ruins. Mount Edgcumbe House and Country Park Torpoint Former home of the Earls of Mount Edgcumbe. Miraculously the walls of his red stone Tudor House survived a direct hit by bombs in 1941 and it was restored by the Earl in 1958. Dingles Fairground Heritage Centre Lifton Nestling in the peaceful Devon countryside Dingles Fairground Experience offers a unique opportunity to view our industrial heritage in a beautiful rural location. There are working and static exhibits of steam engines and vintage machinery. Buckland Abbey Garden and Estate Yelverton A thirteen century Cistercian monastry converted into a Tudor house that became the home of Sir Francis Drake.
