Born in the centre east of France (Franche Comte), and long time owner of a restaurant there; we fell in love with Essaouira during a long tour of Morocco in the year 2009. We then decided to start a new life here, in this typical riad, in this wonderful town of Essaouira. Dar Darek means in moroccan "this house is you house" or in other words "a home away from home".
