The Sogndal hotel is located in the centre of Sogndal, the provincial capital of the area. The Sogndal hotel benefits from a very good location to explore the area, though the immediate surroundings are not particularly inspirational. A practical choice. This hotel is totally non-smoking in all rooms. This is a modern hotel. Much of the outside of the building is clad with reflective glass more reminiscent of a Frankfurt bank than a Norwegian countryside hotel!. The Sogndal hotel is the meeting place for the people of this area when they go out to dine, it therefore has a selection of different eating places of very good standard. The lobby is large with a polished wood floor. There is ample seating in the adjoining lounge and bar area. The rooms are medium sized. They are nicely decorated in the simple style typical of Scandinavian hotels with wood laminate floors and warm, bright colourschemes. Both the rooms and the bathrooms are in very good condition. 1 minute walk to the nearest bus stop, 20 kms to the nearest airport (haukasen), 60 km to the nearest station (flam).
