Book a room at the 4-star Pelion Resort for a wonderful vacation on Mount Pelion in the southeastern part of Thessaly in central Greece. This brand new Portaria hotel is situated at an altitude of 700 meters, 12 km/7.5 miles from the Port of Volos and 13 km/8.0 miles from the Chania Skiing Centre called Agriolefke. Constructed with respect to the traditional local architecture and with accordance to its natural surroundings and traditional mountain architecture around Mount Pelion, the new Pelion Resort consists of two main buildings housing the reception area and lobby, snack bar, restaurant, and comfortable communal living room with fireplaces. In summertime, guests can order off the bar menu and eat outside on the patio around the swimming pool. Room service is also available. The spa facility includes a Finnish sauna and a jacuzzi. Children can play in the outdoor play area, in the shade of an oak tree. The Pelion Resort is located in Portaria, a 5 minute walk from the village’s central square. It’s close to the Church of St. Nikolaus and the Mana Fountain. Nearby is a popular walking path called the Centaurs’ Pathway, leading through historic buildings, monasteries, and country churches. Visitors can play football, basketball, volleyball, or tennis at the Portaria Athletic Centre. Sailing is popular in the Pagasetic Gulf, and skiing is popular at the Agriolefkes ski centre in winter.
