The Peacock Group of Houseboats is on Nagin/Nigeen Lake, which is known as the most beautiful, cleanest lake in Kashmir. Behind the houseboats is a beautiful park with almond trees perfect for a leisurely walk. The houseboats are located across the lake from the Nagin/Nigeen Club. Peacock houseboats are only 5 kms. from downtown Srinagar and 23 kms. from the airport. Owing to its location there is easy access to a number of attractive places to visit in Kashmir such as Pahalgam (75 kms), Yusmarg (50 kms), Gulmarg (50 kms), Sonamarg (80 kms), Leh (450 kms). Guests looking for adventure can also try trekking some of which can last up to 8 days. Pony trekking and winter sports- such as skiing in Gulmarg can be arranged. Houseboats Peacock Houseboats are a Group of Houseboats that have either 2, 3 or 4 bedrooms. All the houseboats are Deluxe category (3 star). Each houseboat has stunning lake views; a common dining room and a common spacious carpeted sitting room with a satellite TV. All bedrooms have attached private western bathrooms. A cushioned verandah looks out over the lake - the houseboy will serve tea as the sun sets over the mountains peaks and shikaras paddle slowly by, offering fresh fruit, flowers and handicrafts for sale. Early each morning, as the sun catches the mist lying over the lake you can understand why they call this place paradise. An expansive sun deck on top of the houseboat is perfect for sitting in the warm sunshine. Each houseboat has its own houseboy. Hotel Facilities Airport / Railway Station transfers, travel assistance, sightseeing, housekeeping service, credit cards accepted, power backup, outdoor activities, water sports such as waterskiing, trout fishing, doctor on call, heaters in winter and taxi service. (Please be aware that many parts of India have occasional power outages. Peacock Houseboats does have a generator for those temporary outages.) Nearby Facilities Peacock Houseboats are only 5 mins by shikara to The Nigeen Club, which offers: a Gym/Sauna, Conference Hall, Restaurant, Cafe seating on the lawn by the lake. There is also a golf club in Srinagar. Room Amenities The hotel offers facilities like room service, fans, room heater, bathtub/shower, 24-hr. hot and cold water etc. for the convenience of its guests. Dining Western breakfast and a choice of authentic Kashmiri, Mughlai, Western, or Indian lunches and dinners are served by the houseboy in the elegant dining room. Complimentary tea- either chai or Kashmiri - Kawha tea is served anytime. Pack lunches can be arranged. Room service is also available.
