Palazzo Monaci

Apraksts
San Galgano Monks affirmed in Asciano like colonizers and reclaimers. They administered various properties, lands, and farms in many areas of this territory. Their largest properties were in the countryside around Palazzo Monaci (once called palazzo a’ Monaci), along the road for Chiusure, on the hills that set down on the west side to Ombrone valley and on the east side face to the Cella hill. In palazzo Monaci was built a chapel dedicated to San Galgano. The building, property of marquis Bargagli, extends up on a hill and has a 360° view over the surrounding countryside. We have restored the two bodies of the building, one in travertine stone (the palace) and the other in bricks with open gallery of sixteenth century, that delimit the court of the farm.
