Come to the Onze Rust guest house when you tour the Cape Winelands or take a long Cape Town weekend. This 4 star Stellenbosch guest house is the perfect place to relax in a beautiful indigenous garden with abundant birdlife, wildlife, and a natural stream. Onze Rust centers around an original Victorian house, built in 1715, that is surrounded by old oak trees and has been recently renovated. A second, newer house features Oregon pine floors, a wide veranda, and dining areas with views of the dam and the garden. The guest house provides laundry facilities, a barbecue area, secure parking, and airport shuttles. A choice of continental breakfast or hot English breakfast is offered each morning. The guest house is located approx. 14 km/8.7 miles southwest of the town centre of Stellenbosch, the second-oldest European settlement in the Western Cape province, after Cape Town. On walking tours of Stellenbosch you can see fascinating examples of colonial Dutch architecture, especially the Stellenbosch Village Museum, the Powder House, and the Fick House. Also nearby are the De Zalze Golf Estate, Stellenbosch Hills Winery, Spier Wine Estate, the Zevenwacht Eco-Trail, and Stellenbosch University. Onze Rust is approx. a 30 minute drive from Cape Town International Airport and a 40 minute drive from the Cape Town city centre. Pets are not accepted.
