Ever since the new Mondi Vacation Club Bellevue opened its doors in 1996, it has continued to capture the imagination of its guests the same way the feudal hotel of yesteryear did - with its casual, understated luxury, timelessly-appointed rooms, friendly staff, and a vacation offering varied enough to keep visitors happy in winter, spring, summer, and fall. And while only two of the original five buildings remain from the old hotel - the rest were deemed unfit for renovation after the 1993 fire - the new hotel complex and adjoining park-like courtyard have retained their classic, easy-going feel. Guests at the hotel can enjoy everything that has been attracting folks from around the world of Bad Gastein for years: skiing at one of Austria’s biggest and snow secure resorts, golf, tennis, swimming, hiking and walking, and of course the cure - 17 healthy thermal springs bubbling out from beneath the neighbouring Graukogel mountain first caught the attention of Habsburg royalty two centuries ago and remain popular today. One of the best parts of any vacation is kicking back after an eventful day and making yourself cosy. Austrians have a word for this most simple of life’s pleasures - "Gemutlichkeit". The apartments at the Hotel Bellevue are perfect for just this - noble at first glance, the rooms have been tastefully appointed in a modern interpretation of the classic Biedermeier style to create a casual ambience. When choosing a room, you have the run of the place; nearly every one of the apartments, respectively suited for two, four or six people, has a balcony or terrace. And all rooms include modern appliances like cable TV, radio, telephones and a kitchen area with a stove, microwave oven, sink and toaster. Bathrooms with either bathtubs or showers are a given here, as well.
