A nine room delight of yesteryear accommodation with up to the minute service ideas and hospitality. Close to the hot pools and magical Mt. Te Aroha, Mokena offers a five person sauna, guest lounge and a private Spa Bathroom. Mokena Restaurant & Boutique Spa Hotel is situated inside a class one historic places trust building. The building was the original Wairongamai Hotel which was situated about 4 kms south of Te Aroha. The building was constructed about 1880 and was bought and transported by bullock train and skids in 1910 to it"s present position. In September 2005 the hotel reopened with 9 rooms for rent. The bedrooms have been renovated and each has it"s own individual theme. All have a stunning view of either Te Aroha Mountain or the Waikato Plains.
