The Double Tree by Hilton Leeds City Centre (ex Mint Hotel Leeds) occupies a brilliant waterside location, right in the heart of Leeds city centre, in part of the revitalised Granary Wharf area. It is right next to Leeds station and the canal, and is easily accessible via all transport links. Cultural places of interest such as Opera North, Northern Ballet, Leeds Grand Theatre and the newly restored shopping district of the Victoria Quarter are only a short walk away. Leeds United Football Club at Elland Road is just a 10-minute drive from the property. Leeds Bradford Airport is some 16 km away, while Robin Hood Airport for Sheffield and Doncaster is 74 km away and Manchester Airport is 90 km from the hotel. The contemporary Double Tree by Hilton Leeds City Centre opened in July 2009. It is ideal for business and leisure guests alike, with 333 rooms, a city centre location, a 24-hour gym and various dining options. The property is air-conditioned and offers a wide range of amenities including a lobby with 24-hour reception and check-out service, a currency exchange facility, a cloakroom, lift access, a caf, a bar and conference facilities. Guests can also make use of the hotel's Internet access, room and laundry services and car park. There are 333 rooms including club rooms and 16 suites, many with outside terraces and spectacular views over the Leeds skyline. All offer excellent facilities for leisure and business guests, including iMac computers, complimentary WLAN Internet access, Skype, Sky, luxurious linen, power showers and 24-hour room service (charges apply). An en-suite bathroom with shower and bathtub comes as standard, as well as a hairdryer, a double or king-size bed, a direct dial telephone, a satellite/cable television, a radio and a hi-fi system also come as standard. There is a safe, a minibar, tea and coffee making facilities, an iron and ironing board, central heating and individually adjustable air conditioning in every room. A 24-hour gym is provided for the exclusive use of guests, including full cardio-vascular equipment and a multi gym. Music is provided to help keep guests motivated during their work out, whilst chilled water ensures that guests can re-hydrate throughout. Guests can go out for an al fresco city meal on the hotel's terrace overlooking the canal, or step inside the welcoming, spacious, softly-styled surroundings of the hotel restaurant. Whether guests are eating inside or outside, they are assured of award-winning modern European cuisine, created by the hotel's Group Executive Chef, Scott Macdonald. Guests can dine la carte in the restaurant, or take advantage of the market menu, rich in seasonal surprises. By rail: Guests can walk to the hotel by exiting the station, crossing the road and taking the steps down to Neville street. Turn right at the bottom of the steps and follow the road under the railway bridge. Follow the signs for Granary Wharf and turn right into the second arch. At the end of this road the arch will open up onto the hotel frontage.
