Our home, a spacious wooden bungalow built in 1919, is surprisingly quiet and restful, set in a garden suburb in a tree-lined street, 200 metres from Greenwoods Corner Village with its bank, post office, a good selection of reasonably priced local restaurants, and a bus stop on direct route (15 minutes) to Downtown. There is a short walk to One Tree Hill, one of Auckland's loveliest recreational parks with a playground, farm animals, groves of native trees, the Observatory and a magnificent panorama of Auckland from the summit. A 15 minute walk through the park leads to the Expo Centre and Greenlane Hospital. There are two accommodation areas - either the Garden Suite with its queen-size double bedroom, large lounge with three single beds, patio, desk, TV and own bathroom, which we find very suitable for families, or there is the upstairs bedroom (king size, can be converted to twin beds) with own ensuite, desk and TV. Quiet, tree-lined residential street 400 metres to One Tree Hill & Cornwall Park 200 metres to Greenwoods Corner village with bank, post office, restaurants Cooked or continental breakfast Families are welcome in our 'Garden Suite' Complimentary use of washing machine & iron 1km to National Womens/Greenlane Hospitals, antique shops and Expo Convention Centre Well travelled (NZ & overseas) informative, helpful hosts, with son living in Finland. Hosts have 6 grandchildren in Auckland. Mid-way travelling time (20 minutes) between the airport & Downtown Auckland.
