A convenient Tampere, Finland hotel, it is well located just south of downtown, a 10 minute drive from the University of Tampere and Tampere Cathedral. The Mango Hotel is an innovative self-service hotel that has been recently renovated. You can check in 24 hours a day using the room number and personal code provided to you in advance. There is no traditional front desk, but hotel staff is available to assist you between 7 a.m. and 10.30 p.m. A self-service, no-cost laundry room is equipped with a washer, dryer, iron, and ironing board. A generous Scandinavian breakfast buffet and high-speed internet access are included in the room rates. This hotel is located in the Hatanpaa area, approx. 2.5 km/1.6 miles south of downtown Tampere. A 10 minute walk to the west takes you to Hatanpaa Manor (Hatanpaan kartano), a historic Neo-Renaissance building that houses a doll and costume museum (Nukke-ja Pukumuseo) and is surrounded by gardens and an arboretum. Just to the north of the hotel are the University of Tampere or UTA (Tampereen yliopisto in Finnish) and Ratina Stadium. Other downtown attractions include the Laukontori Market Square; the Tampere Theatre; the Tampere Lenin Museum, one of the last museums in the world dedicated to Vladimir Ilyich Lenin; and Moomin Valley, a museum about the comic characters called Moomins, created by Tove Jansson. The Mango Hotel is 1 km/0.6 mile from the main Tampere bus station, 1.9 km/1.2 miles from the Tampere train station, and 10.7 km/6.6 miles from Tampere-Pirkkala Airport.
