As an adult-only property, Magnolia Mansion is ideal for couples seeking a relaxing getaway or to celebrate an anniversary, honeymoon, proposal, or even an elopement. Elopement/small-wedding packages are available. Because it caters to romantic rendezvous, all overnight guests must be adults 21 years or older. There is a non-smoking policy strictly enforced at Magnolia Mansion; however, smoking is allowed outside on the veranda. It is centrally located one block from the St. Charles Street Car, right off the Mardi Gras and Saint Patrick Day Parade routes and minutes from most major attractions, the French Quarter, great restaurants, shopping, the convention center, the Superdome, and the Mississippi River Paddle Boats. Historically known as the Harris Maginnis Mansion and once the headquarters of the American Red Cross during World War II (1939-1954), it now operates as Magnolia Mansion, one of New Orleans's finest, upscale bed-and-breakfast inns. With 11 phenomenal, Corinthian columns and a grand wrap-around veranda framed by massive oak trees, Magnolia Mansion is one of New Orleans's most majestic, most photographed, and most treasured Historic Garden District Antebellum Homes, built in 1857-58. Rates are based on double occupancy. Charges for extra adults may apply and will be due directly to the hotel. This is a historical building and has no elevators. Guests are required to be able to use stairs.
