The Macdonald Leeming House hotel is situated just 10 minutes from the M6 motorway, on the shores of Lake Ullswater in the heart of the Lake District. The hotel is about 2 miles from the attractive town centre of Ullswater, where countless restaurants, bars, pubs, and shops can be found. The river Eamont and a beautiful river landscape, which invites visitors to take a stroll, is only 800 m away, while links to the public transport network are 13 km away. This is a traditional building, built in the early 1800's and converted into a country house hotel in 1969. The hotel is set in 20 acres of landscaped gardens and woodland. The lobby is welcoming. A very impressive hotel. The rooms are medium in size with classic style decor and maintained to a high standard. All rooms have full facilities and almost half, have their own private balcony or terrace. The rooms at the front of the house have views over looking the lake and the backdrop of rugged fells beyond. Guest can use the cocktail bar, sitting rooms and conservatory for aperitifs before moving on to the elegant dining room where an extensive table d'hote menu is served. Directions: Leave the M6 at Junction 40 and follow the A66 and then A592 to Ullswater and Windermere cross road. Then follow the Windermere signs until you arrive at Watermillock by Ullswater. The hotel is approximately 2 miles further on.
