The traditional, friendly Los Hidalgos Hotel is located in the heart of the charming town of Santillana del Mar, surrounded by trees and green, open space. This hotel comprises a total of 40 rooms and underwent renovation work in 2001. Amongst the facilities count a foyer with a 24-hour reception desk, an in-house restaurant, a bar and a cosy TV room with a fireplace in addition to a laundry service. Those arriving by car may make use of the car park and garage facilities. The setting of Los Hidalgos, in amongst the pleasant parkland, make it ideal for families and those looking for a peaceful getaway. The surrounding area is a fine example of a picturesque Cantabrian town, typical of the region known as Green Spain. Its main attraction is the nearby world-famous Altamira Caves, where you can see some of mans oldest artwork. A short drive away you will find the stunning mountains of the Picos de Europa and the regions fantastic, unspoilt coastline. Start the day with the hotels continental breakfast. Then, in the evening, try some of the regional cuisine served in the la carte restaurant.
