The Kona Village Resort hotel is surrounded by serene lagoons nestled in lush tropical landscape. Guests can enjoy dramatic, surreal, black lava cliffs where ocean meets land, as well as soft, sandy beaches and a protected bay teeming with fish in brilliant colours. Once a bustling Hawaiian fishing village, the setting of this establishment still radiates the spirit of the land and the healing power of the sun and ocean. Guests will find the centre of Kailua-Kona only a 5-minute drive away, and it is half an hour by car to the Captain Cook Monument. This deluxe village resort comprises a total of 120 individual hales accommodation units over 33 hectares, offering guests a choice of picturesque garden views, tranquil lagoon settings and dramatic ocean panoramas. Guests have a choice of nine styles which range in size from intimate to large enough to accommodate multiple families. Telephone, fax and photocopy services are available 24 hours a day at the hotel's front desk. Further facilities on offer to guests include a lobby area, bar, restaurant and Internet access. Laundry facilities with complimentary washers, soap and dryers are located throughout the resort. Dry cleaning and special laundry services are available by request through the front office. Casual clothes and food items may be purchased on the property and parking is available for those arriving by car. This hotel is specially designed to accommodate disabled guests and the younger guests will enjoy the kids' club. Complimentary ground transportation from Kona International Airport to the resort is available. Guests can experience barefoot luxury in an environment that still speaks to its past and showcases Hawai'i, as it was meant to be: There is no TV, radio or telephone in the hale. Each hale comes with a private bathroom with a shower/bathtub and a hairdryer. A mini fridge, tea and coffee making facilities and an ironing set also feature. Furthermore, a king-size bed is provided in all accommodation as standard, in addition to an in-room safe. This hotel features 2 pools, and guests may relax with a spa treatment (charges apply), or try their hand at diving (for an additional fee). It is also possible to go sailing or canoeing or to enjoy tennis or table tennis. The gym is open daily for guests' use. Twice a week guests can enjoy the evening Aha'aina (lu'au) dinner and show. On Tuesday evenings there is a Paniolo (cowboy) Night BBQ, as well as the General Manager's Cocktail Reception. Nightly entertainment is offered at the Bora Bora Bar. A box lunch or lunch voucher for select island restaurants is included in the room price and coffee and pastries are on offer for early risers. No children are allowed at the resort in May or September. Complimentary ground transportation from Kona International Airport to the resort is available.
