Room category is Partial Ocean View Super Saver rate. The hotel is located beachside, in the heart of the historic fishing village of Kailua-Kona on the Big Island of Hawaii. The full-service landmark hotel is home to the world-famous annual Ironman Triathlon. Recreational facilities include swimming pool with a jacuzzi, comprehensive meeting and banquet facilities, a Hawaiian activity centre and the only air-conditioned shopping mall in Kona. A historical walking tour takes place daily highlighting displays throughout the hotel and grounds. The hotel is comprised of two towers, each six stories in height , with tropical landscaping. The hotel's restaurant offers a casual dining atmosphere and spectacular views of the bay during breakfast hours. Each table has an view of the ocean and Kamakahonu Bay with the historical Ahu'ena Heiau as a striking focal point. By the pool, the bar is a perfect place to enjoy a cool and refreshing tropical drink while snacking on a wide choice of pupus or appetizers any day of the week. An outdoor luau occurs once a week offering a sumptuous Hawaiian buffet and dramatic Hawaiian and Polynesian entertainment. The lobby is large in size with a waiting area offering chairs, couches and tables. There are numerous shops located in the lobby. Prominently displayed is a large and compelling mural painted by a renowned artist. The newly renovated guestroom design is drawn from Big Island themes: lava, native flora, and the intricate detail of the Hawaiian tattoo. The carpet represents the organic flow of the lava fields. The tile is the soft white and beige of the coral sand. The upholstery is based on the red and brown of the famous local coffee and the green of the accent colors comes from the many leafy shades of the fern forest. Brand new bedding has been added to each new room, and solid wood furniture is chiseled in bold a Polynesian tattoo motif. Bathroom upgrades include new tubs, toilets, showers and shiny fixtures, plus luxurious Bath & Body Works products and hotel basics like new hair dryers, irons and ironing boards. Each room features a new flat screen TV, complimentary Kona coffee and coffee makers, and complimentary wireless Internet. These rooms are located on the upper floors with views of beautiful Kamakahonu Bay. 14 kms to the nearest airport (kona keahole), Close to the beach.
