The Kernos Beach is a superior 4-star hotel nestled on an expanse of gorgeously landscaped Mediterranean gardens, with its very popular 300m long sandy beach, offering to its guests assured comfort and Crete's warm hospitality. The hotel is approximately 35 Km east of Heraklion, 25 minutes drive from Heraklion "Nikos Kazantzakis" International airport and 30 minutes drive from the port of Heraklion Port, which offers connections to nearby islands. The main restaurant (inside and outdoor dining) has a large veranda in the garden overlooking the Aegean sea. The American breakfast buffet and a 3-course dinner menu, with salads, starters and dessert from the buffet and the main course are served. The fish restaurant, located on the sea front, offers a wide range of seafood and dish delicacies for lunch. The tavernaki (snack-bar) located on the sea front on the western side of the property offers a variety of snacks, salads and grilled food for a light lunch in the outdoors with the fresh sea breeze. The kafenion, situated in the small square and under the plane-trees, is the ideal spot to enjoy a Greek coffee or ouzo. The cafeteria on the eastern side of the hotel offers a frontal sea view and has a selection of hot and cold beverages as well as a choice of local and international sweets. The bar located just next to the main restaurant offers drinks prior or after dinner. For recreation and leisure guests can relax on the secluded, long, white and sandy beach, have fun in the water sports centre, take a dip in the outdoor freshwater swimming pool (children's pool is also available), take a walk in the extensive gardens, play a game of tennis on one of the 2 courts, play beach volleyball, mini-golf or table tennis, or enjoy a typical Greek night with live music. Group excursions to archaeological sites at the 5 Minoan Palaces at Knossos, Malia or Festos, can be arranged by the front desk. The Crete Golf Club is only 5 Km from the Kernos Beach hotel and has 18 holes, and is built in an exciting desert style design. The 70 Sea View rooms are located in on of the 3 wings of the main building and are contemporarily designed and well appointed to. They consist of one bedroom with two twin beds, one bathroom and a balcony with panoramic sea views.
