The Houstonia Bed & Breakfast is located in historic South Charleston, Ohio, one quarter mile from the South Charleston Antique Mall. The Clark County Fairgrounds & Exposition Center, located within seven miles, serves as a venue for "Antique Extravaganzas," where over 2,000 dealers display and sell their antiques. Interstates 70 and 71 are within eight and 20 miles, providing access to Dayton, Springfield, Columbus and Cincinnati. Built in 1890, this Prairie style Victorian mansion features a wraparound veranda, original woodwork and period furnishings. The Houstonia Bed & Breakfast often hosted national politicians in the pre and post World War I era, including the 1920's presidential nominee James M. Cox. Complimentary full breakfasts are served each morning in the dining room, with the signature dish of Praline French Toast. Complimentary soda, bottled water, coffee and tea are provided. Lunch is available for a fee. Fax and photocopy machines, a printer, and complimentary wireless Internet access are available. Bicycle rentals allow for rides through the village or on the bike path running through South Charleston. Pets are not allowed at this property. The Houstonia Bed & Breakfast offers five guest accommodations with cable television. All guestrooms provide featherbeds. Units include private bathrooms, some with double lavatories, bidets and antique soaking tubs with separate showers. One of the rooms offers a gas fireplace. Rocking chairs, sofas or window seats are included in all rooms.
