The Hotel Le Lavoisier is situated at the heart of the French capital, between Saint Augustin church, La Madeleine monument and Faubourg Saint Honor. An abundance of shops are located in the immediate vicinity, as are scores of restaurants and bars. Saint Augustin mtro station is just 150 m from the hotel. The property sits on a quiet street just off a busy thoroughfare. No tourist attractions are in the immediate vicinity except the famous department stores Au Printemps and Galleries Lafayette. Nevertheless, this lodging is a good value with attractive rooms at moderate prices. This hotel was renovated in 1999. The blend of the serenely classical and quietly modern is evident in the two small lounges and the bar-library's plush leather furniture and shelves of fine old books. Guests pour their own drinks and espresso. A vaulted cellar serves breakfast amid 19th-century art and orange-pink decor. Wireless high-speed Internet access operates throughout. The use of the Orange and Pink colours, plus red, black, white and yellow, carry through to the guest rooms, with shutters to dim the light and high ceilings and traditional furnishings. There are the usual amenities, as well as large closets, phone modems, reading lights, and individual air conditioning. Marble baths offer adequate vanity space and sufficient lighting. Two floors are smoke-free, and two rooms are for travelers in wheelchairs. Parking is five minutes away.
