The Hotel della Fortezza is located inside the Fortezza Orsini in Sorano, and overlooks the medieval town, the Fortezza, the country is reachable in 3 min on foot, following the ancient routes of access to the fortress. This is one of the most impressive examples of military architecture of Tuscany, and was one of the most important strongholds. Inside the citadel of the fortress in the oldest part of the fortress (prior to restructuring the architect Sangallo) after having crossed the bridge on the moat in the small square is the hotel, with 16 rooms furnished with refined elegance and period furniture, from whose windows can enjoy a breathtaking view of a cliff over the village of Sorano. From Florence via the A1 motorway: exit at Orvieto and follow the signs to Castel Giorgio, San Lorenzo Nuovo, Grotte di Castro, Sorano. From Florence via Siena, exit at Firenze Certosa dall'A1 and take the highway to Siena South (exit SS2 Cassia - Buonconvento) then take the Via Cassia (SS2) to Km 146 where the indication for Sorano. From Rome via Viterbo: Follow the signs to the Lake of Bolsena, then for Valentano, Latera, Sorano. Via Aurelia from Rome: take the SS1 to Montalto di Castro, then follow the signs to Canino, Valentano, Sorano. From Genoa via Grosseto: SS1 Aurelia exit at Albinia, from there follow the signs to Manciano, Sorano. The hotel does not have a restaurant, but has agreements with many restaurants (Ristorante da Fidalma, Old Source, La Taverna Etrusca Ristorante dei Merli) and the possibility to choose the half board or full board with the one chosen by customer.
