A few blocks from the Palanga Botanical Garden, it’s one of the quieter and more well located hotels in Palanga. The Vyturys is part of the Baltija Rehabilitation Centre, where patients receive treatment for musculoskeletal, ophthalmologic, circulatory, gynecologic, otorhinolaryngologic, and nervous system disorders. For a nominal fee, guests can use the indoor swimming pool and the sauna or participate in the Nordic walking program. Also on the property are 2 conference halls, 3 lecture rooms, a bar, and a cafe. Guests can check their email for free on the property's public computer. Located on the south side of this resort town, the Hotel Vyturys is in close proximity to the Palanga Botanical Garden, the former park of Tiskeviciai Palace, a Renaissance Revival estate built for the Tyszkiewicz family at the end of the 19th century. Today the palace houses the Palanga Amber Museum (Palangos gintaro muziejus), a branch of the Lithuanian Art Museum that exhibits the third-largest amber specimen in Europe, called the Sun Stone. This accommodation is approx. 1.5 km/0.9 mile from Basanavicius Street (J. Basanaviciaus gatve), the town’s focal point and tourist centre, which leads to Palanga Pier. Beaches extend along the Baltic Sea coast on either side of the pier.
