Located in the historic centre of Citta della Pieve (City of Churches), a charming hill-top town overlooking the Umbrian and Tuscan countryside, Hotel Vannucci's position makes a perfect base from which to explore central Italy. Once used as a summer home by royals, this property recently underwent extensive renovation and has 30 stylish accommodations, including suites/triples that are well suited for families. All rooms include a safe, mini bar, hairdryer, satellite TV, and high speed internet access. The hotel sits within peaceful walled gardens with shaded outdoor seating and a terrace for al fresco dining at the hotel's Trattoria/Pizzeria Pievese, open during warm weather months. A lovely plunge pool set within wood decking provides a private area for sunbathing and relaxation. Additional facilities include a fitness room, sauna, and Jacuzzi. The hotel's public spaces are warm and wonderfully decorated mixing modern elements with classic decor; many of the unique light fixtures were created by the hotel's owner. There is a library with fireplace and a bar/lounge with outdoor seating that serves American cocktails. The hotel's restaurant is absolutely fantastic! With over three hundred wine labels and a changing menu focused on regional cuisine using local ingredients, Ristorante Zafferano is a must for guests staying at the hotel and any tourists traveling through the area. The cuisine is flavorful and the restaurant's maitre can select wines for each dish to further enhance one's dining experience. The restaurant also offers a small terrace for outdoor dining. Located alongside a popular pedestrian promenade, this terrace is also a perfect spot for people-watching.
