The Hotel Ter Brughe is located in a section of Bruges called St. Gillis; it is near a 14th century bridge, the Augustine Bridge, which traverses one of the canals. Within walking distance of this Bruges hotel is the Chocolate Museum, Market Square, the Belfry Tower, and the sight of graceful swans swimming on the canals. The Hotel Ter Brughe can be reached within ten minutes from the local train station. The airport can be reached easily via car, tram or taxi. Each tastefully decorated guestroom at the Hotel Ter Brughe comes standard with telephone, minibar, cable TV, Internet, radios, and private bath with hairdryer. All have rattan furnishings. Some rooms have superb views, overlooking the canal. Larger rooms have antique furniture. The hotel was originally built as a warehouse in 1553. It is a "listed" house, meaning the government prohibits major renovations such as elevators. The original basement of the Hotel Ter Brughe has been turned into the breakfast room where you can view the canal and the swans while enjoying your meal.
