The Pinos Playa Hotel, which is situated on a main thoroughfare on the cliffs above the bay of Cala Santanyi, lies within metres of the sea and 100 m from the nearest sandy beach where sun loungers and parasols may be hired for an additional fee. Cala Santany lies in the southeast of the island, 45 km from the airport and 55 km from the island's capital, Palma. Far from the tourist hordes, this hotel is located in uniquely beautiful surroundings in an attractive, quiet, wooded neighbourhood. Santany, the main town, lies 4 km away and to the east, on the coast, lies Cala Lombards followed by Cala S'Almonia and Calo d'es Moro set in natural surroundings, and bordered on either side by Rafal and S'Avall, a protected nature reserve. The Pinos Playa Hotel was constructed in 1975 and renovated in 2004. It consists of 5 floors in the main building and 7 one-storey apartment buildings with a total of 94 rooms, of which 10 are singles, 84 are doubles and 59 are apartments. The hotel also enjoys a spacious garden. The hotel facilities include a lobby with a lift, a TV room, a currency exchange desk, a cloak room, a hairdresser, a beauty salon, a lounge, a games room, a playground, bicycle rental as well as a car park and a public garage. Dining options include a caf, a homely bar, an air-conditioned non-smoking restaurant and an air-conditioned la carte restaurant. Further facilities include Internet access (for an added fee) and room and laundry services. Younger guests may enjoy letting off steam in the play area or in the kids club. The comfortable rooms are equipped with satellite TV, a fridge, a ceiling fan, central heating (depending on the season) and a balcony, and most of them have sea views. The hotel offers an indoor swimming pool, 2 freshwater swimming pools (of which one is heated), a children's pool, 2 pool bars, sun loungers, sunshades, a sauna, a jacuzzi, a massage and a beauty centre. Sporting options include water aerobics, water polo, diving with lessons (for an added fee), windsurf board rental, canoeing, pedalos, 2 tennis courts with lessons, table tennis (bats can be hired), squash (for an added fee), aerobics, morning aerobics, archery, air rifle shooting, darts, mountain biking (for an added fee), football, beach volleyball, pool tables (for an added fee) and bocce. A light entertainment programme is also offered for adults.
